Official launch of the PRACTI-SEAS project
KENTA has offically lauched the PRACTI-SEAS project and made the kick-off meeting in its factory on June 23rd 2017.
PRACTI-SEAS is a collaborative R&D project certified by both the 'Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique' and the 'Images&Réseaux' Competitiveness clusters.
The project is financed by the European commission (FEDER) and local administations (i.e. Région Bretagne).
The aim of the project is to developp an innovative software design radio (SDR) platform for maritimes applications.
Two applications will be tested through two test beds:
- One dedicated to maritime security (GMDSS) using the NAVDAT technology in MF (500kHz)
- One dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) applied to a boy connected to the coast using the VDES technology (VHF Data Exchange System).
The partners of the project are nke Instrumentation, ECAM Rennes Louis De Broglie (Research institute) and KENTA.
The project duration is 2 years.
